The vision
High-volume hiring is often costly and time-consuming, and Occy decided to solve for this. They wanted to reduce manual work by automating repetitive, time-consuming tasks. They wanted to improve efficiency by helping clients fill roles faster while maintaining quality. And equip teams with data to optimize cost-per-hire, drop-offs, and sourcing efficiency.


The challenge
Occy started out as Smart Recruit Online, built to serve the growing demands of volume hiring. While it found early traction, the platform soon ran into issues—broken user journeys, clunky workflows, high support dependency, and a lack of intuitive design. Core recruitment processes lacked visibility, and users struggled to complete tasks with ease. It became clear to the team: the product needed a complete rethink.
The solution
We started by conducting a thorough data-driven UX audit of the product. We mapped user journeys across the hiring lifecycle and uncovered user needs and pain points. This uncovered critical opportunities to improve usability and align the experience with user and business goals.
Designing for Smarter Sourcing at Scale
In addition to creating a clear, intuitive interface, we designed for saving time, standardizing, and reducing errors by creating job templates for the most common posts. We introduced the idea of Campaigns for promoting jobs in external platforms and forums—to tap into a larger and more diverse talent pool. Recruiters could target the job boards which were most relevant for the role.

Automations for Effective Screening and Efficient Hiring
We helped recruiters move faster by reducing manual work across the hiring process. Clear, stage-by-stage pipelines and unified candidate views made it easier to assess and act quickly. Moreover, recruiters could set up rules and triggers to automatically move candidates through stages—without manual effort. Customizable screening forms and self-serve scheduling tools saved coordination time, and created a smoother, more professional experience for both recruiters and candidates.

Fast Offers, Fewer Drop-Offs
We streamlined the final stages of hiring to prevent delays and reduce drop-offs. Automated e-signing made it easy to send and sign contracts quickly, while bulk offer rollouts saved time and cut down on manual errors. Faster background check management helped recruiters close faster and keep top candidates engaged through to joining.
