The vision
Globally, the home services space—roofing, repairs, pest control, solar panel installations, lawn upkeep, etc.—are dominated by firms employing a large number of people, characterized by frequent turnover. Sequifi brings purpose-built tech to this space, helping these businesses manage people operations with speed, clarity, and ease.
The challenge
After years of building thoughtfully—validating the problem, reaching the right users, and refining functionality—Sequifi had a solid product in place. But to grow, they needed better adoption and retention. That meant leveling up the product experience, starting with design.
The solution
We decided to focus on two high-impact areas: simplifying the onboarding experience and building a robust design system to unify the product's look and feel.
Frictionless Onboarding that Drives Adoption
Onboarding employees in this space came with high volume and complexity, driven by varied contracts and payment structures. We audited the existing flow, identified points of confusion, and redesigned it to feel fast, clear, and stress-free. The goal: help both employees and HR teams complete tasks without friction—no confusion, no drop-offs, just a smooth start.
HR tech as easy as Social Media
The product’s end users were typically young, with low levels of formal education. These digital natives quickly tune out anything that feels clunky, complicated, or outdated. Since they’re more used to social apps than HR portals, we designed an interface that felt instantly familiar—clean, intuitive, and effortless to use.
Elegant visual language, codified for the future
Collaborating closely with the team, we crafted a visual language that balanced freshness with maturity. Next, we built a comprehensive design system that not only covered colors and typography, but went into details of icons, buttons, loading states, progress bars, etc. Anything the product needed now and in the future: it was included.
Design Manuals for Faster, Consistent Builds
With high-value deliverables such as a design system that have a long life, our responsibility does not end at handoff. To ensure that the design system is thoroughly understood and effectively put to use, we created elaborate documents that explained when, where and how each component needed to be used.
